nothing is unlimited. true. then why they are ISP’s are allowed to advertise it as “unlimited”?. TRC does so many things to protect service providers but not much for broadband users. anyway whats the average FUP limit in UK? .

Nothing is unlimited. FUP must be there to safeguard the bandwidth. Not in Srilanka even in UK the same thing applies. TRC has given approval for FUP on fixed broadband

broadband package එකක් ගන්න එක ගැන තාම හරියට හිතුවේ නෑ. airtel සිග්නල් ප්‍රශ්නේ සහ දැන් දැන් airtel slow (විශේෂයෙන් රාත්‍රිකාලයට) කියල කට්ටිය බනින නිසා airtel ගන්න අදහස අත්හැරියා.කෝකටත් airtel test පාරක් දාලා බලන්නයි ඉන්නේ. ගෙදරට airtel HSPA සිග්නලු නැහැ. Mobitel නම් signal හොඳට තියෙනවා. දැනට mobitel 3G daily delight ටික දවසක් පාවිච්චි කරලා බලලා හොඳ නම් 2GB zoom 890 package එකක් වගේ ගන්නවා. කලිනුත් dialog වැඩ නැති වෙලාවට mobitel 3G daily delight පාවිච්චි කරලා තියෙනවා.

Yes, the bandwidth drops but *not proportionately*. This is the difference between a water line and a digital network. In other words, if 10 Mbps is shared between 10 users each get less than 10 Mbps, but not necessary one tenth of it. Depending on the applications they use sometimes it can be as high as 7-8 Mbps.

Yes. That’s true. And I agree with you. I assumed that here to ease the explanation.

the worst case is the disappointed customer is the one who didn’t reach 5GB limit. Not the “download manager” . So he probably leave dialog.

Good observation. Two things.

I have requested Dialog to abolish so called ‘Fair’ usage policy. The longer they keep it more the unsatisfied customers they breed.
